1998 Season

 

·         41 men started the season with 40 men receiving awards at the end of the season.

·         44 men participated in the summer running program (9 jr.high men)

·         12 men went to Oregon, Illinois for a four day cross country camp

·         Practice was held eight times a week during the summer - Mondays and Wednesdays being two-a-days.

·         Eleven men ran more than 400 miles during the summer

·         Our first 1000 mile runner - Chris Zachara

·         3rd place at both levels (varsity and frosh/soph) at the Kaneland Invitational

·         First varsity dual meet victory vs. Glenbard North and Dundee Crown

·         First place - sophomore race at the Glenbard South Invitational with 33 points

·         Placed 25th at the Crete Monee Invitational and were awarded the Most Improved Team trophy.

·         Six runners broke 17:00 minutes for three miles

·         Ten runners broke or equaled 18:00 minutes for three miles

·         Fifteen runners broke 19:00 for three miles

·         Full time assistant coach - Jim Dickerson

·         The best manager in the world - Shelly Zachara

·         Three pasta parties hosted by parents

·         Official logo designed - found on shirts, hats, etc.

·         3rd place in the varsity and frosh-soph races at conference

·         6th place in the Aurora Regional - only 11 points out of 5th

·         Chris Zachara qualified for Sectionals placing 18th overall in the Regional
