2007 IHSA
State Cross Country Champions Season Summary 2007 ·
122 men started the season and 113 men received awards. ·
153 men grades 6-12 were in the summer cross country program. ·
We raised over $9,000 during our annual run-a-thon. ·
53 guys participated in the Oregon camp and Coach Bovee from
Illinois State was our guest speaker. ·
We “discovered” Cantore Park J ·
We went undefeated at the varsity and sophomore levels for the
whole season! ·
We won every major invitational – Hornet-Red Devil, Peoria
Woodruff, Culver, Lockport, and Sterling. ·
In the varsity race, at the Peoria Woodruff Invitational, we
finished 1, 2, 3. In the Open race, we
finished 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7!!! ·
In the 26 year history of the Culver Invitational, we ran the
fastest cumulative team time ever run. ·
We won every level at the Conference meet and individually
finished 1, 2, 3 in every race! ·
We won our first IHSA Regional Meet. ·
We won our first IHSA Sectional Meet. ·
Chris Derrick set eight course records throughout the season. ·
We were ranked #1 in the State from pre-season to the end of
the season despite losing our #2 guy, Jimmy Riddle, to a stress fracture in
mid September. ·
We were ranked #1
in the country at the end of the season!

We were Nike Team
National Champions! ·
We were the best team in the country!!!! |
